First aid

Prescribe a diet with restriction of consumption of salt up to 1-1,5 g / day (treatment with diuretics 3-4 grams a day), fluid to 1-1,2 l, sometimes up to 600-800 ml. More significant, but short-term restrictions are expedient at the edemas caused by a glomerulonephritis. The diet with a sharp restriction of sodium is poorly tolerated by most patients, and prolonged use it can exacerbate the violation of water-electrolyte metabolism, cause hlorpenicheskuyu azotemia syndrome and salt depletion. Excessive restriction of liquid in the presence of edema can lead to symptoms of hypernatremia. When decrease protein edema -  prescribe protein-rich foods (except in cases of renal and hepatic failure). To reduce the capillary permeability is used vitamins B1, C and Р. Prescribe of diuretics - furosemide, veroshpiron (see below). In any case you can not engage in self-treatment edemas, you must immediately go to medical institution.
